My first and will be my last time here. And now I totally understand why on this Friday night peak dinner hour where all the other restaurants are having long Q and this restaurant is only 30% occupied with zero waiting time for table. 1. Service? Staff wasn’t welcoming at all. I was there with my partner and my infant in the stroller. First they gave us a table, while I was choosing my dish, they brought in another group of customer and I was asked to shift my stroller to another side for 1m safe distance. Seriously? 70% of tables were empty and you must arrange them next table to mine. We ended up shifted to another table. While placing the order, we found out the staff wasn’t familiar with the menu at all, I pop one question about the dish, and the question were passed to third staff to get it answered. 2. Food quality. The flower tea tasted like Ribena syrup, fried fish can break your grandfather’s dentures, veg and fried rice was very average. 3. It was pricey for such experience! Unfortunately, not worth it at all. I’ve never been to any other branches, but I don’t think after today I would want to try.

Very pricey. Portion is small. Average porridge price is 14.90. So my family order more plain porridge which is 4.90, actually plain porridge taste quite nice as it add scallops. We add side dishes too. Even thought it is weekend there isn’t much crowd because it is too pricey for small portion porridge. See receipt and menu either attached to my review or you can view it in YouTube. Please note that, no all outlet has same dish. Why 3 star? Because it’s pricey!
The customer service at this Vivo branch is definitely not up to standard. The staff was not welcoming and warm. When I asked for pepper for my porridge, she did not even reply me, after I asked the second time, she just nodded silently and walked away, after just throwing 3 packets of pepper onto my table. When the other food arrived, they staff just placed all the food in front of me. There were others eating with me, but she didn’t even bother asking who ordered what. I have gone to restaurants which don’t even impose service charge, but their service is so much better than this, which has service charge. After I was almost done, she just cleared my pot without asking, I wasn’t even done with my porridge. There were still some left which I haven’t finished. Not only that, the quality of food here is totally not their usual standard, I have been to other branches like compass one and there is a stark contrast in the quality, the food here lacked certain flavours and was not tasty. The management has to improve on this branch as I am not the only one having complains. There are other reviews which shares the same view as me. If not, I am sure the business will continue to go downhill.
Very bad experience. Very bad customer service/attitude and extremely slow service. First dish arrived 35min after ordering. Waited for another 15min with two reminders to have the second and third dishes on the table. Waitress place order wrongly (fourth dish). it never come to the table after about an hour, so we requested to cancel the dish and leave. Waitresses’s attitude became very bad, and acted very arrogantly, pretended cannot see you. Don’t recommend to dine in here if there are other restaurants available.
I'm quite torn when writing this review. I really enjoy the food but the overall experience wasn't really pleasant. The good point about this place is it's service and the food. We were welcome and greeted with very friendly staff. Staff that makes our experienced pleasant. The food were really above average. The XO fried rice though a little oily has the sweet aroma of "wok hey" (锅气). A very important criteria for a great Chinese stir fried cooking. The XO sauce was not overwhelming and it blended very well with every grain that gives the pleasure of every bite. I was quite impressed with the Dried Scallop Porridge with Minced Meat, Century Egg, Salted Egg and Egg. (干贝三色蛋肉碎粥) Not only the porridge was smooth, every slurp was really a gastronomical delight. The flavour of dried scallop in the porridge was brought out by eggs making it delicious. The whole experience would have been a 5 star if not for the deception feeling we felt when we were told that the fish skin and boil peanuts are not complimentary. It would be fine to pay for them as they were good, but the customers should be told and given the opportunity to decide whether they want it. Anyway, like what other customer has written, hopefully the management should change their strategy in trying to squeeze extra few dollars from customers in the experience expense their own reputation. Such great food should and service should deserve at least a 4.0 ratings. Plus the price are a little pricey in my opinion.
Service staff was definitely not up to par and have so much more to improve on. The food is alright, but missing some bits of flavor. I paid with GrabPay, which is one of the various payment mode by the store. Their system couldn’t load the transaction history and cause a big delay in my time. My privacy was invaded where they asked for my number in case “I didn’t pay” where it is well known that the payment has went through successfully on my side.
The food is passable. Not somewhere I will return. This place is so noisy that it’s like having dinner in a war zone. I prefer to eat at those neighbourhood zi char stores as it is no difference in food quality. The fried rice is not bad actually on its own I would have given a 3.5 star. The dried fruit tea is refreshing although the price is rather high. Other than those mentioned the rest you can skip over.
I visited the restaurant at Vivocity and ordered clay pot sesame chicken noodle but was utterly disappointed. There was no smell or taste of sesame and the noodle and chicken were tasteless. It was hawker center food but restaurant price. My daughter ordered claypot chicken and mushroom rice. Similarly, there was no flavour and chicken was plain and tasteless. There was not much sauce to go with the rice which was very dry and unappetizing. We were very disappointed. Service is poor too. Waitress were unwelcoming and cleared our food without asking first as my son’s porridge was cleared before he finished eating. We were appalled by the standard of service and quality of food. I do not recommend this restaurant.
