Best school ever. My Alma Mater is the best. Has always been my second home and the teachers are the best. “EAST TO WEST CGHS IS BEST”

An old school having high academic standards and run by the Thoburn Methodist Church. It is off Raja Subodh Mullick Square. They have a rear gate which leads you to a lane off Hind Cinema.

Spent a long time at this school and have seen it through 3 different administrators. Now I cannot comment on the current status since I left it back in 2015, but my time there was unfortunately less than satisfactory. I found the environment to be too oppressive to foster a healthy growth. Pretentiousness and hypocrisy ran rampant among a lot of the staff and with time came to rub off on a lot of the students. Snobbiness, illicit and bigoted remarks, old cliches was practiced by a lot of the student body but I chalk that upto typical high school drama( some of which I might have partaken in on ocassion..). No, the biggest issue was with the administration which paid little to no concern to an average student's welfare but was too focused in bringing about publicity. Which is not to say my entire school experience was bad. I met some genuinely nice people whom I remember fondly till this day. The old catholic vibe and the aura of such a historic school also made quite a positive impact. Overall, I've grown stronger for the experience and I'm grateful for that. waste
