I love the mendips area, great to ride the motorbike through and around! Love the hills!
Cheddar Gorge is stunning. Unfortunately the caves are currently closed due to Covid19 but the natural beauty of the gorge and the surrounding walks is breathtaking. Well worth a visit, just remember walking boots and poles as some of the paths are steep and uneven. On a clear day the views from the top of the gorge are magnificent.
I have been very fortunate to have lived and grown up in this beautiful part of the world.
Only passed through the Mendip Hills on a recent tour of Somerset but what a spectacular drive along the scenic road to Cheddar and then down to Wells. Rolling hills, beautiful autumnal forests, idyllic little villages and wonderful views across to Glastonbury Tor and down over the Somerset Levels. In some places the trees formed a tunnel over the road. Lots of dairy farms and a few roadside stallholders selling strawberries, pumpkins and other local produce. Would definitely like to see more and do some walking here.
