Time for an overhaul. Place is tired and so is the administration.

Our mother, Ora McGuire, lived the last months of her life at Ellis Nursing Home – a truly wonderful facility. It has a nice dining room, a pub, an internet/games room, a spacious lounge, and a relaxing outdoor courtyard. The art and the landscaping are also lovely. Most of all, the Ellis staff is outstanding! From the Driftwood nurses and aides to the Rehab and Activities teams to the incomparable Dr. Fallah-Sohy. A huge thank you to all of them. They made our mother’s last days at Ellis a rewarding experience. Ellis Nursing Home rocks!!

My Dad was recently released from the Ellis Rehabilitation Center. He is 100 years old and was in intensive care for congestive heart failure and pneumonia. We thought that we'd lose him but the Dr's at St. E's did a great job. When he arrived at the Ellis the prognosis didn't look good. He was on oxygen all the time, not very communicative and was very weak. I met the staff and Dr. when he was brought in and I was impressed with the friendliness and care by the entire staff - nurses, Physical Therapists, and the Ellis administration. All was extremely well coordinated and over a two week period my dad was up and walking, eventually with a rollator walker and the team had successfully weaned him off of oxygen so that he could go home without the need of oxygen tanks or a wheelchair. I was really impressed with the Elmwood unit and everybody that interacted with me and my dad. He looked forward to his PT and he loved the food and care that he received. Shannon - the Social worker in his unit helped us immensely with care and nursing coordination during the release process. The only complaint that I ever heard from my dad was that weekends were boring. Not too bad I'd say! Thanks to everyone at the Ellis.

My mother is at the Ellis (three months) and I've had nothing but good experiences. The staff is friendly and attentive and I've had no reasons to be concerned for her well-being. It being a 40 year old facility and maybe needing a little touching up - I can't give it a fifth star but the place is fine.

My mother in law was in there. The staff is kind, caring. She is now home and doing well
