We had a trip planned to Loch Awe, close to Oban and on the Saturday before leaving read a small article in the Guardian about the 'Try a Dive' scheme at Puffin. I signed up my wife immediately, as she has always wanted to sample Scuba diving. (I could not, not enough time to get Doctors clearance for me, which would be unlikely anyway!) My wife, in her late 60's had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As a taster it was great and the price included all equipment, air and a fully qualified mentor. There was no 'teaching' in the time available, just suiting up, a good briefing, and then getting in and then under the water. My wife's mentor was great, very patient and fun. All I saw for 15 to 20 minutes was bubbles in the harbour. All in all, excellent. and great value for money.

Family has been going here since the 90s before it was puffin and this year has left me shocked The prices have gone up so much recently despite the quality of the facilities degrading and on top of that I got the spanish inquisition upon arrival very rude, aggressive and unfriendly staff and then also overcharged me on the second day! I may never return and I advise others to avoid
