Lost faith in these boys... Took my Ford for MOT & Service in November 2019. Fast forward to May 2020 and the sun finally makes an appearance, so I turn on my air conditioning. No cold air. I think this is odd, as I only had it re-gassed in the summer of 2019 when it was working perfectly. So I check fuses, relays and that there is actually refrigerant in the system - all good. After exhausting my basic troubleshooting, I take it to an independent garage for diagnostics, as I’m now suspecting either the compressor has failed or it’s an electrical issue. At a cost of 80 for the diagnostic, it is discovered that a plug has been left disconnected in the passenger footwell - this plug and wire is normally in the way of - the CABIN FILTER - which was changed at its service in November. The ‘Ford trained technician’ didn’t plug it back in again after changing the filter. Whether by accident, or on purpose - thinking I’d take it back to them so they can charge me to ‘fix’ it, I’m not sure. What I am sure of, is that I now have zero confidence in this garage. If they can’t do the basics right, what hope is there on more complicated stuff? I guess they just expect that their customers don’t really have a clue how their vehicles work and will just cough up and swallow whatever they’re being told. Poor.
