Food made us feel sick. Yogurt in chaat papdi was sour, had gone bad. Called in just to make staff aware but they denied it without even checking. Also chutneys are diluted, there is no real tamarind chutney, just sugar water with food coloring. Cholay were bland, not seasoned. Paneer bhurji was overfilled with turmeric, and super oily. When asking for chutney with my aloo tiki, staff member was hesitant to give it. Quality of food was disappointing to say the least. Would not come back even if food was priced lower. Garlic naan was tasty. :)
Hey proud Vegetarians! I am back with this exciting place i tried in the New York City. You should definitely try Aloo Tikki Chat. Chats are all about chutneys and they make is the right tangy, sweet and spicy. The kind lady will only charge you 6 and serve you food worth 20. I mean the quantity this Dhaba serves is huge. The taste of the food is soooo good that i bet you won’t miss India for a moment. I also tried their veg thali as you can see. It costs 8 and is super delicious made with pure butter, fresh vegetables, lot of paneer and LOVE! QUANTITY at less price, EXCEPTIONAL TASTE and LOVE is what makes this food joint special. I would definitely travel from New Jersey to New York around 40 miles to have this delicious food.
Love the vegiterian food. It tastes so good! Just wished their were more places like this!
This used to be one of my favorite Indian restaurants on Long Island, they consistently had clean, delicious Punjabi dishes, and the prices were very reasonable, if anything, it was much much cheaper. But over time, it seems like their quality of food and customer service has gotten worse to the point where I don't even want to go. There is only one waiter, maybe 2 if you are lucky, looking after all the tables in the restaurant, so it takes forever for the poor guy to take your order and it takes even longer for them to serve the food. Speaking of the food, its quality has deteriorated, once in a while, I even see a few hairs in the dishes, the paneer dishes are not very good. They also have been consistently hiking their prices (and this is pre-covid), and the quantity in takeouts has decreased. Speaking of customer service, while the waiter is polite, there is this lady who is incredibly rude. After waiting over 30 mins for our order, I went and asked this lady about our order, and she snapped at me and told me that they have many orders to fulfill and that I would have to wait, even though there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant, and it was about half an hour from closing time, so it seemed quite fishy to hear that there were "many orders."
I frequent this excellent place every couple of days as I like the good mood that is part of this place. The staff is exceptionally attentive and well trained. The service is remarkablywonderfully quick. Needless to say, the food you eat is magnificent. I have been there often and I was always joyful. The rate is decent. I suggest this place to to everybody.
There Gobi Parathas are awesome. I would have given them 5 stars but for muli paratha there was barely any filling in it.
