Love this place, last visited here in '88 when it was an active site for intermediate-range nukes, great memorial here for the good (bad) old days ... We should not forget our history no matter how uncomfortable it was ...

Great outside area with plentiful gravel paths for walking and cycling. Cattle and ponies roaming. Is quite exposed when it's windy. Easy to socially distance.
Wow, first time here and didn't appreciate the scale of the common. Great for cycling and walking through the wooded area or on the parts that were more operational in the past. Nice little cafe on in the old air traffic control building, although there are limited facilities at the moment due to Covid.
Its such a great place to go for walks, bike rides and running enthusiasts. You can go off the track into the woods and explore or follow the trail around what used to be the largest runway in Europe!! I go there all the time with friends and family either to relax and grt fresh air or do some serious biking. They even filmed scenes from Star Wars the force awakens and Star Wars the last jedi!!! It was a former RAF base during the cold war, they used to store nuclear weapons in the 5 bunkers although you might have to go round the forest route to see the other 2.
Love this place for walking the dogs. great space as others commnet you need to rap up warm it gets very windy
